Width: Using a wood or steel measure, measure the exact distance between the windowopening at two points
(as shown). Record the narrowest dimension.

Height: Measure the exact distance from the sill to the inside edge of the top casing at two points (as shown). Record the shortest dimension.

Width: Using a wood or steel measure, measure the exact distance between the hinging points at two points (as shown).

The Shutter: (Including Hanging Strips) Must extend a minimum of 3/4" beyond the inside opening on each side, a total minimum of 1-1/2". This is necessary if using a side-mount hanging strip.

Height: Measure from the sill to a height that gives the same amount of overlap on the top casing as you have on the side casings, at two points (as shown).

* Outside Mount Size is the maximum size of the window the actual shutter width will be the listed size.

Our Traditional 1 1/4" DIY Shutter Kit Panels may be trimmed up to 3/4" inch on the top and 1 1/2" inches on the bottom.

Our Plantation 2 1/4" DIY Shutter Kit Panels may be trimmed up to 1/4" inch on the top and 1 1/2" inches on the bottom.

* Inside Mount minimum recommended depth: Plantation is 1 1/2" and Traditional is 1 1/4"
