Wood Interior Shutters: Measuring

Width: Using a wood or steel measure, measure the exact distance between the window opening at two points
(as shown). Record the narrowest dimension.

Height: Measure the exact distance from the sill to the inside edge of the top casing at two points (as shown). Record the shortest dimension.

Divider Rail: Measure the height of the divider rail from sill to the top of the divider rail. Use a divider rail on panels over 36″ in height.

Width: Using a wood or steel measure, measure the exact distance between the hinging points at two points (as shown).

The Shutter: (Including Hanging Strips) Must extend a minimum of 3/4″ beyond the inside opening on each side, a total minimum of 1-1/2″. This is necessary if using a side-mount hanging strip.

Height: Measure from the sill to a height that gives the same amount of overlap on the top casing as you have on the side casings, at two points (as shown).

Divider Rail: Measure the height of the divider rail from the sills to the top of the divider rail. Use a divider railon panels over 36″ in height.
